About Our Magnifier Lights

• Magnifier Lamps are a specific type of task lighting. A magnifier light features a positionable arm supporting both a light source and magnifying lens, providing excellent visibility for a particular task.
  
  
• Optical Glass Lenses The lenses in our fittings all use optical grade glass, the kind used for lenses in spectacles. This gives optimum visibility of your task free from distortion caused by flaws in the glass, or by more refractive glass varieties.
  
  
• 5 Diopter Magnification is the standard magnification power of the lenses in all of our fittings. A 5 diopter magnifying glass would typically be described as providing "2.25x" magnification, though magnification power is a complex topic and there is plenty about the subject here at Wikipedia.org.
  
  
• Compact fluorescent lamps are also standard in all of our fittings. Compact fluorescent lamps are readily available and provide low operating temperatures, optimum energy efficiency and long life.
